Christmas in the Country & Butler County Holiday Festivals

This month in The BC, welcome the return of the holiday season by checking out one of Butler County’s family-friendly holiday festivals and parades.

Christmas Walk Parade & Tree Lighting
When: November 16 | 2 p.m. – 9 p. m.
Where: Olde West Chester & Union Day School
Admission: Free

Welcome the holiday season to Olde West Chester by heading out to the Christmas walk and parade and tree lighting. This year’s theme is “Fire Up the Christmas Spirit” and participants and residents are encouraged to light up the night with battery-powered lights, glow in the dark apparel, and glow sticks! The tree lighting  ceremony will take place following the parade in front of the West Chester Administration Building.

Butler County Tree Lighting Ceremony
When: November 22 | 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Where: Butler County Courthouse
Admission: Free

Join residents from across the county as they welcome the holiday season with the official tree lighting ceremony held at the Butler County Courthouse.


Middletown Santa Parade
When: November 30 | 4 p.m.
Where: Governor’s Square - Middletown
Admission: Free

Bring the whole family to the Middletown Santa Parade! The parade will include holiday floats, a performance group, and everyone’s favorite…Santa!

37th Annual Old-Fashioned Christmas in the Country
When: November 30 – December 1 | Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Where: City of Shandon | Shandon Congregational Church
Admission: Free
Don’t miss out on the county’s most popular holiday festival! Christmas in the Country will feature live music, antiques and crafts, free horse drawn trolley rides, Welsh cakes, homecooked food, and more. Visit with Santa Claus in the Old Fire House (Sat: 11-3/Sun: 1-3), stroll through the historic Welsh Cemetery, warm up with hot coco and enjoy the holiday season with your family.
