August E-News, Dancing in September


Leave the sweltering summer months behind and welcome fall with open arms. We are dancing into September with a variety of BC events filled with the arts, shopping, and community festivals!


Stroll through the beautiful outdoor sculptures of Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park at the 9th Annual Pyramid Hill Art Fair on September 24-25 in Hamilton. This event will feature over 100 arts and crafts set out by local, regional, and national art vendors. Guests can enjoy artwork, entertainment, food, and more at this annual event!


Enjoy extra savings on top of already low outlets prices and be ahead of the game for back to school shopping at the Cincinnati Premium Outlets Labor Day Weekend Sale on September 2-5. Live music will be played in front of the Food Court featuring Final Verdict Sun, Three Way Street, and Caribbean Trio.


Head over to Liberty Township for the Fall Festival and 5K Pursuit of Liberty on September 17. This festival will feature food, entertainment, and more in Liberty Park!

August E-News, Happy in the Heat


Put on your shades and sun hats for some fun outdoors this August. The BC has so much in store; we don’t want you to miss a beat!


Check out the nation’s largest and most exciting Model Air Show coming to Hamilton. The Greater Cincinnati Radio Control Club (GCRCC) is a group of model airplane enthusiasts who put on a radio control model air show every summer called The Flying Circus. This year will be The 51st Annual Flying Circus will be held August 6-7 at the Butler County Regional Airport in Hamilton and will cover two days featuring over 200 model aircraft of all kinds, from helicopters to jets, to a rocket powered Space Shuttle.


Celebrate art in the heart of Middletown at the First Friday Downtown Middletown event on August 5. This monthly celebration of the regional arts community features artists’ studios and galleries, the Pendleton Art Center and BeauVerre Stained Glass Studio will be open, boutique shopping, live music, and dining at the All About You Café.


Join in the summer fun at the Oxford Summer Music Festival Pig Roast Nite on August 25 in Uptown Parks. This festival will feature Thunder Bay, outdoor activities, and a Pig Roast. This summer is special, because 2011 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Oxford Summer Music Festivals.

The BC is filled with multi-cultural diversity and we want to share it with you. Our unique and worldly attractions bring with them international events that will fill your summer days with adventure!


Immerse yourself in healthy living! Check out the Weekend of Wellness at Jungle Jim’s International Market in Fairfield on August 6-7. The Natural Foods Department is excited to announce this NEW, one-of-a-kind food show. Featuring more than 50 booths and products from gluten-free, natural, organic and supplements sections, there will be vendors from all areas of Natural Foods. Samples will include vegetarian and vegan foods, gluten-free and low-carb foods, vitamins, minerals, sports nutrition products, and organic body care.


Enjoy good company, great shopping, and heaping fresh crayfish at IKEA in West Chester! Join IKEA on Friday, August 19 for the Annual Crayfish Party. This event features all-you-can-eat Swedish Crayfish for just $9.99 a person! The “Kraftskiva” (crayfish party) is one of the most important social events of the year in Sweden. Usually held in August during the height of crayfish season, it’s a time for friends to gather together and celebrate the warm weather and heaping piles of fresh crayfish!


The BC is proud to host the 2011 World Disabled Water Ski Championships at VOA Park on August 25-28. This event features three main events: slalom, tricks, and jumping. Within each event, athletes are grouped into the three categories of seated, standing, and vision impaired. The event was last held in Vichy, France in 2009 and drew 47 competitors from 18 countries!
