July E-News 2011, August Adventures


Let’s keep the summer energy going right on into August! Soaking up the sun, spending quality time with our four-legged friends, or leaning towards healthy living, there’s something to do every weekend in The BC!


The BC is proud to host the 2011 World Disabled Water Ski Championships at VOA Park on August 25-28. This event features three main events: slalom, tricks, and jumping. Within each event, athletes are grouped into the three categories of seated, standing, and vision impaired. The event was last held in Vichy, France in 2009 and drew 47 competitors from 18 countries!


Immerse yourself in healthy living at Jungle Jim’s International Market’s Weekend of Wellness on August 6-7. Featuring more than 50 booths and products from the gluten-free, natural, organic, and supplements section, there will be vendors present from all areas of the Natural Foods section! Samples will include vegetarian and vegan foods, vitamins, minerals, organic body care, and more.


Spend a day in a beautiful art park setting with your pups! Enjoy a park walk, fun, demonstrations, vendors, food, and more at the Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park Dog Walk on August 13. Prizes will be awarded for best trick, cutest dog, most obedient, largest/smallest dog, and more.

July E-News, Gettin' Wet 'n Wild in The BC

This contest for a weekend getaway for two, features two nights accommodations at the Hampton Inn in Fairfield, a day of fun at Wake Nation, a fishing day pass at Voice of America Park, and fishing gear of two poles and a tackle box filled with accessories is included! The contest starts July 1 and runs through July 31.

July E-News 2011, A Flurry of Fireworks


You’ll have a booming good time in The BC this Independence Day! Grab your sunscreen and blankets for parades, cookouts, pool parties, and dazzling fireworks displays happening all over the county.


Red, White, and Kaboom in Fairfield is on July 3 this year! Celebrate the 4th of July with a fantastic fireworks display from Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks, entertainment, food, and activities at three official viewing locations in Fairfield: Harbin Park, Village Green Park, and the Fairfield Aquatic Center.


Celebrate Independence Day in Liberty Township this July! The 4th of July Festivities in Liberty Park are July 4 and include a 5K Run for Liberty Race, which will begin and end at Lakota East High School. The Annual Parade will begin at Lakota East High School and end at Liberty Park.


Rock the night away in Oxford at the July 3rd Celebration in Uptown Parks! This event will feature a parade, pie baking contest, the Oxford Community Band, penny carnival games, Giraffe Stilt Walker, inflatable rides, a fireworks show, and more. And, don’t forget about the Pool Party at the Oxford Municipal Pool on July 4th.

July E-News, Kickin’ Back in The BC


Warmer weather brings lots of outdoor activities to our region. The BC has some of the most distinguished and extraordinary events in the country. You don’t want to miss what we’ve got cookin’!


Visit beautiful Middletown, Ohio and enjoy the 9th annual MidUSA Ohio Challenge in Smith Park on July 15-17! This festival features sanctioned hot air balloon competition events, Team Fastrax professional skydiving team, the best of regional musical entertainment, a classic car show, arts and crafts vendors, a wide variety of festival foods, tethered hot air balloon rides, airplane and helicopter rides and much more!


It's sink or swim at the Crazy Cardboard Regatta in Voice of America Park on July 23-24. Head over to VOA Park for some fun on the water, family activities, food, and a summery setting!


Bring the entire family out to the annual Butler County Fair on July 24-30 at the Butler County Fairgrounds in Hamilton. The BC Fair will feature livestock, arts and crafts, games, rides, food, and more!
