October E-News, A Glimpse into November

Right on the heels of October, comes November with chillier fall weather and Thanksgiving! The BC is gearing up for this month with artsy indoor events and holiday themed activities!

Prepare your palate for Jungle Jim’s International Market’s 3rd Annual International Wine Festival November 12-13 in Fairfield. With over 400 wines representing over 20 countries, guests can sip on classics like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay from places like Argentina, South Africa, and Chile! Interspersed among the delicious wines will be olives, cheeses, meats, and more all arranged within their specific countries to compliment your tasting experience!

Hop aboard the Christmas Spirit early at Christmas Junction at EnterTRAINment Junction in West Chester starting November 20! This Christmas Journey features two sections, the “Journey to the North Pole” which takes guests on a magical journey through an amazing winter wonderland. The other, “A Christmas Carol,” takes visitors back to the times of Charles Dickens and his classic holiday story!

Get your whole family in the mood for the holidays with a drive through a fantasy Christmas light display in Middletown! Light up Middletown will illuminate Smith Park on November 26! Drive through this amazing display that’s open every night, including holidays!

October E-News, Trick or Treating with a Twist

What’s your favorite Halloween memory as a kid? The BC has some fantastic Trick or Treating events this Halloween that will create lifelong memories for you and your family!

Break out your kid’s best and most creative Halloween costumes for the Trek and Treat event at Miami University Middletown on October 30! Take a fun and educational journey through the campus nature trails with your little ones. Children’s activities and treats will be scattered along the way!

Let the Halloween fun begin for your family this year in Oxford! At the Oxford Parks and Recreation Trick or Treat event on October 28, families can play games, win candy, and carve pumpkins to be entered in the Carving Contest! And, you won’t want to miss the Lions Club Halloween Parade that day!

October E-News, Have a Haunted Halloween

There are so many ways to celebrate Halloween and Butler County features many different activities for every age group! Whether you are dressing up your kids, or your pets, in adorable Halloween costumes, looking for a family low-scare event, or if you are a haunted house buff, The BC as something for you!

Your little ghouls and goblins can celebrate fall fun at the Halloween kid-friendly Jack O'Lantern Junction at EnterTRAINment Junction in West Chester now through October 31! The kids will love roaming through the two NEW well-lit mazes; one is through an old Victorian Village complete with cobwebs and "haunted rooms," and the other maze features a mirror maze, curtain maze, vortex tunnel, and hurricane room! Also new this year is the indoor Pumpkin Patch where the kids can pick out their own free pumpkins!

October is full of fun surprises at Monster Mini Golf in West Chester! Every day in October, one lucky golfer will win their choice of a Nintendo DS or a Kindle! You could be the 10th golfer or the 100th golfer; the winning numbers are randomly generated each day. You can also be entered to win the Grand Prize Drawing of a package worth over $50,000! All you have to do is play a round of golf dressed up in a Halloween costume!

Dress your pooches up in a fun Halloween Costume for the Howl-O-Week Costumed Dog Parade at VOA Park on October 17! Prizes will be awarded for best costume for large and small dogs, best theme, and best costume for dog and owner. All well-mannered dogs on leashes are welcome!

Let the terrors of Halloween begin at Middletown’s Land of Illusion Haunted Theme Park open now through October 31! Test your bravery through the Haunted Trail, Dr. Psycho’s Estate, the Temple of Terror, the 3-D Killer Clowns, and the Voodoo Bayou Shanty! Will you make it out alive?!

Nothing says fall more than a hayride through a pumpkin patch with the ones you love! Find the perfect adventure for your family and friends in Butler County this fall season!

Barn-n-Bunk Farm Market in Trenton features free Fall Festival Weekends through October 31! Guests can peruse handmade crafts and gifts, pick out pumpkins, stock up on fall treats, go on horse drawn hayrides, and more at this farm market. Barn-n-Bunk also features a delicious Sunday Brunch Buffet filled with classic country dishes!

Have you ever gone through a corn maze before? At Butterfield Farm Market in Oxford you can take a shot at navigating your way through the 5-acre Corn Maze now through November 7! After you’ve found your way out, there’s plenty more to do, like roasting marshmallows around a bonfire, browsing a huge selection of mums and pumpkins, and more!

The 210-acre Niederman Family Farm in West Chester celebrates the fall season with a number of traditional activities through October 30! You can take a farm tour, go on a hayride, try out the corn maze, see all the livestock, snack on caramel apples, pick out the perfect pumpkin in their pumpkin patch, and more!
