Robert Cottrell Book Signing at the Books in Shandon bookstore

Local Editor, Robert Cottrell, will be signing copies and discussing the newly Revised Edition of his father's, Miami University professor Fred Cottrell, book Energy & Society: The Relations Between Energy, Social Change, and Economic Development. Originally published in 1955, this revised edition of the late Fred Cottrell, was just recently found by his sons amongst his papers. Complimentary refreshments will be available. 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The village of Shandon is the first Welsh settlement community in Ohio and is still rich in farmland and historical buildings. It was settled by the family of Edward Bebb, whose son William was the 19th governor of Ohio.

Miami University Middletown Soul Food Luncheon

The Miami University Middletown Soul Food Luncheon has been rescheduled for today at 11:30 a.m. This year's menu includes fried chicken, fried catfish, greens, green beans, candied sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, cole slaw, red beans and rice, pound cake, sweet potato pie, peach cobbler, cornbread and rolls. All proceeds will go to the Haiti Relief Fund. The public is invited to attend and carryout is available.

Bela Fleck: The Africa Project at Miami University Hamilton

The Artist Series: Bela Fleck: The Africa Project will perform Feb. 22 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Parrish Auditorium on the Miami University Hamilton Campus. Bela Fleck, as a master American banjoist, brings to the stage some of Africa's most talented musicians. This performance reminds us how we are all connected and that music from across the world can lead us to our roots.
