Middletown Symphony Orchestra Concert at Miami University Middletown

Looking to spice up the cultural side of life this weekend? You'll definitely enjoy The Middletown Symphony Orchestra concert at Miami University Middletown on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. The concert will feature Rick VanMatre, saxophone soloist. Pieces performed include William Schuman’s “New England Triptych,” Michael Patterson’s “Concerto for Saxophone,” and Robert Schumann’s “Symphony No. 4.”

Adornment and Excess: Jewelry in the 21st Century Art Exhibit at Miami University

Adornment and Excess: Jewelry in the 21st Century is showing at the Miami University Art Museum now through July 10, 2010. Jewelry featured in this exhibition includes pieces made from plastic, paper, cardboard, metal, reclaimed resources, and contemporary designs. Unexpected and thoughtful, this exhibit offers a framework for considering questions of sustainability, responsibility, material recycling, ethical consumption, prosperity, decadence, and jewelry itself.
